FDP for UK Development Project

Zenith Energy were contracted by Energy Pathways to provide Well Engineering and Well Operator Services for the subsea ‘Marram’ Field Development Project in the East Irish Sea. Marram is a shallow gas discovery with an estimated 40-50 bcf recoverable resources.

Objectives

  • Deliver optimum well and completion designs
  • Support project economics modelling through time and cost estimation
  • Various initial well planning scopes
  • Support client concept select report creation

Method

  • Performed detailed offset well review
  • Performed detailed and complex trajectory modelling
  • Completion design work performed in line with trajectory modelling
  • Assessed viability of vertical, deviated and horizontal well design options
  • Numerous iterations of time and cost modelling
  • Collate all date into detailed report

Challenges

  • Ormskirk reservoir is very shallow, +/- 1,200ft TVDSS
  • Challenging well trajectories to meet objectives of high angle / horizontal reservoir penetration
  • Variety of well design options to consider
Outcomes
  • Presented optimum well and completion design options to meet client objectives
  • Delivered multiple time and cost estimates to feed into project economics
  • Identified optimum well trajectory options to meet horizontal well target
  • Established casing design requirements
  • Presented completion design options for each well profile
  • Provided conceptual design report to support field development concept select report.
